SUEZ NWS provides wastewater treatment services for Taizhou New Energy Industrial Park
Jan. 2, 2018, SUEZ NWS’ subsidiary Taizhou Sino French Sewage Treatment Co., Ltd. (“Taizhou Sino French”) signed an asset transfer agreement with the Administration Committee of Taizhou New Energy Industrial Park, to provide quality wastewater treatment services for the entire park in the next 30 years under concession.
Taizhou Sino French is a joint venture (“JV”) newly established by SUEZ NWS and Taizhou Jiulong Wastewater Treatment Plant. The wastewater treatment project invested and operated by Taizhou Sino French according to the investment cooperation agreement signed with the Administration Committee of Taizhou New Energy Industrial Park, has a total investment of 167.5 million RMB, and SUEZ NWS accounts for 90% shares. The total designed capacity of the project will reach up to 40,000 m3 /day, of which the first phase reaches 10,000 m3 /day. It will strictly comply with the first-grade A-level discharge standard1. The JV will also take responsibility for the investment, construction and operation of the second phase and future projects of the wastewater treatment plant according to the development needs of the park.
Taizhou New Energy Industrial Park is an industrial area that the Taizhou Government established with priority. It has a planning area of 30.9 km2 , focusing on development of new energy and new energy vehicles, new materials, information technology, and high-end equipment manufacturing, and aims to build a cluster of new energy industries. Mr. Zhang Aihua, the Secretary of the Working Committee of Taizhou New Energy Industrial Park said:"The park adheres to the concept of building a liveable, low-carbon, environmental and cultural park. Taizhou Sino French is the third cooperation project following Taizhou Golden State Water Company Limited ("TGSW") and Taizhou Golden Harbor Water Company Limited ("TGPW"), that SUEZ NWS has developed in Taizhou. At present, TGSW has a daily water supply capacity of 200,000 tons, providing full-scale water supply services to 240,000 households. TGPW’s raw water and water treatment projects have a daily treatment capacity of 800,000 tons, covering one third of Taizhou area and serving 1.8 million residents, industrial and commercial clients. With the establishment of Taizhou Sino French, SUEZ NWS will further expand its business in Taizhou to the field of wastewater treatment and become the largest integrated water service operator in Taizhou.
